Each week, every co-op member must put in about 5 hours of labor toward their house and BLC as an organization:

  • Cooking shift: Complete a dinner cooking and cleaning shift. Typically, you cook from 5 to 7 pm, serve and eat from 7 to 7:30 pm, and then clean between 7:30 and 8:30 pm for about 3 hours of labor.

  • House jobs: Do your chosen house jobs or BCL responsibilities. Examples of responsibilities include: clean a bathroom, take recycling to the recycling center, maintain compost, sweep stairs, clean the living room, clean a fridge, take part in a BCL committee. Total labor devoted to these takes should be about 2 hours per week.

BCL members are expected and encouraged to attend BCL organizational meetings:

  • Households: Are typically once a week after a house dinner. The exact days and times are set by each house.

  • Committees: Can vary in frequency, times, and days.

  • General Assembly (GA): Held on the second Sunday of every month at 7 pm.
